Moldow Furniture Design is the home of exclusive Danish design. Our company was established in 2016 by Christian Moldow, with a vision to create exclusive and modular wine rack systems using the finest materials and exceptional craftsmanship.

Our wine rack system is adaptable to all rooms, and the wide range of individual modules can be combined according to customer wishes. We also offer custom-made wine racks, with our skilled craftsmen ready to make design adjustments fully according to your wishes.

Expansion to Portugal

My decision to establish my own production in Portugal at the beginning of 2021, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrates my dedication and initiative. I took a risk by booking a one-way ticket to Portugal and renting space in a carpentry production between Porto and Lisbon in the small town of Ourem. Fourteen years ago, this town was a significant player in the furniture industry, with around 80 manufacturers. Although the number of manufacturers has now reduced to 8, it has created significant opportunities for Moldow Design. I now have my own production, spanning over 1600 m2 and equipped with all the necessary production machines.

Strategic Decisions for Success

The decision to initiate production in Portugal stemmed from the lack of fulfillment of quality standards, delivery requirements, and growth potential from my previous manufacturer in Poland, as well as my distributors in Denmark. The direct connection from production to the customer, which I have chosen, makes sense for all parties involved and ensures control over quality, delivery, and competitive pricing.

Innovative Design

My innovative design approach, where the shelf forms the silhouette of a wine bottle, adds a unique character and appearance to the wine racks. This common thread running through all my designs creates a recognizable signature style that stands out. The unique and thoughtful design concept not only provides an aesthetically appealing look but also manages to convey a connection to the core of the product - in this case, wine. This is an example of how I integrate innovation and aesthetics to create a meaningful and recognizable series of Danish-designed furniture.
